This is a classic Victorian flat with all the beauty and charm of old San Francisco. The long stairway leading from the front door is lined with painted stamped-tin panels, and curves elegantly at the top to face the living room with its lovely false fireplace and mirrored mantle. Your room is in the front and has painted wood floors, north-facing bay windows, a double bed with a pillow-top mattress, and an antique armoire and dresser set. The living room, kitchen, and bathroom with clawfoot tub are in the center of the flat, and the hosts' bedroom is in the back. The back foyer has an in-unit washer/dryer. Our low-key, mid-sized dog lives with us, and we are unfortunately unable to accommodate more pets. Bernal Hill Park, with its spectacular 360-degree views of the Bay Area, is a one-mile walk. Garfield Park and pool are 2 blocks away. 24th street, the thriving artery of the Mission's Latin American diaspora, offers a diversity that's hard to find in San Francisco anymore, with a wide variety of languages spoken from block to block, upscale cafes and delis nestled among the taquerias and bookstores, and a distinctly bohemian feel. Our neighbors in the building are families with young kids and are friendly and respectful.
