Hill House is a best kept family secret. Tucked away in the Hudson Valley, this home stands bravely on a ridge of Cascade mountain and looks out over Mt Adam and Mt Eve. The combination of stone and wood, the simple lines, the modest gardens and cozy front porch create a warm welcoming space. Inside this hilltop home you are greeted with forest views and light-filled rooms, simply decorated with warm colors and simple furniture. The original beams come from an old local barn, the stonework from a nearby river. An open layout on the first floor with a combo kitchen, living room, dining room. The first floor also includes a full bathroom, queen size bedroom and cozy den which was in fact the original cabin. The second floor opens up into a bright, sunny writing window loft space with a full size deck at the top of the natural staircase. The second floor continues in a similar open layout with an open spacious master bedroom in marine blue with vaulted ceiling and a row of skylights that look out into a beautiful canopy tree-scape. Continuing down the hall, to your left is a master bath and ends in a third bedroom tucked into the corner, perfect for a child, family member or guest who needs a little more privacy. The corner bedroom has a hidden staircase that brings you down to the den below. There are many spaces for outdoor relaxation and fun. Wandering gardens, a fire pit and picnic table, nature trails and a secrete place out back. Many a beautiful spot for an impromptu picnic, reading a book or watching the stars. This property is a rustic and somewhat isolated spot, although there are friendly neighbors not to far off and a extended family of woodland animals. With the Appalachian trail just miles away, we are a quick 10 minute drive to the village of Warwick and less than an hour to NYC. Just 10 minutes from the local drive-in, apple orchards, wineries or ski mountains and 5 minutes from Cascade Lake with a lovely trail for early morning walks.
