You'll be in Washington, DC's perfect location for medical professionals, and just plain for getting out and about. Located on a quiet street, yet only three blocks from one of DC's transportation hubs: Free shuttles to five Washington, DC hospitals, METRO Subway Green and Yellow lines, steps from several bus routes, too many options to list. Columbia Heights neighborhood is known for its diversity. DC USA, DC's largest shopping center, has Target, Best Buy, etc. Food stores, farmer's markets, fast food snd cool restaurants, and a host of services all within a few blocks. Grocery stores, banks, etc., all within a few blocks. Current tenants are three male professional, looking to add a fourth. We're at a convenient location on a quiet street with quick access to shopping, great nightlife, restaurants, and live music in the Columbia Heights, U Street, Adams Morgan, and Mount Pleasant areas. Housemates all are super nice, calm, laid back, responsible, respectful, quiet, and friendly. We are a relaxed, social, and considerate group, looking to add a professional or graduate/post graduate with similar attributes: a steady job and a desire to maintain a work and social life balance with all that Washington has to offer. The Room: The bedroom features high ceilings, beautiful original oak hardwood floors, a small closet, large dresser with huge mirror plus a medium sized teak desk next to a large window: sunlit southern exposure, sound and temperature insulated! Warm in the Winter, Cool in the Summer. The kitchen is huge, beautiful and fully equipped with everything a chef or foodie would want (newly renovated)- see photos. Utilities included -- Central Heat & Air-Conditioning, Gas, Electricity, Water, etc., Cable, and Gigabit plus WIFI high-speed Internet. The Laundry: *Two* Deluxe Washer/Dryer systems on two floors so there is never any waiting and you can do two loads at once! And green space: Charming backyard flagstone patio with flowers, teak furniture and gas grill for entertaining (newly renovated). Sitting area with a table in the front yard. A transportation hub and powerhouse: Metro subway Green and Yellow lines, bus, shuttle, etc., On street parking. Zip cars, Capital Bikeshare, and other modes too. Major bus routes both up/downtown and crosstown, abundant taxis, quick Lyft and Uber pickups, etc. The Streets: While the house is on a quiet street, a few steps away is a vibrant neighborhood with abundant transportation, retail, dining and entertainment options. 14th St and 13th St are also very "walker friendly" with lots of lots of pedestrian traffic. Taxis, buses, bike share stations around the corner. Bike lanes and several parks nearby. More on transportation: 5-minute walk (3 blocks) to the MetroGreen/Yellow lines. Abundant and frequent Metro bus routes up and down 14th and 16th streets, plus Circulator express bus to downtown. Parking: On street Zone 1 with a city permit. Social Life: Columbia Heights Open Market Saturdays on Fountain Plaza Vibrant Nightlife & tons of shops and restaurants: Convenient Gyms. - Washington Sports (3 blocks) with a large swimming pool and the new YWCA, (a few more blocks) also with a large swimming pool. - Adams Morgan (4 blocks) - Mount Pleasant (4 blocks) - DC's newest and Largest Super Giant Grocery Store (4 blocks) - 14th and U Street Corridor (7 blocks) - including Trader Joe's - Whole Foods (5-minute bus ride down 14th St) - Shops: Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshals, Washington Sports Club, Staples, plus a great mix of many good restaurants, office centers, express mail services, banks, etc. New Stores, interesting shops, and restaurants of all types opening up all the time.
