This newly-renovated English Basement apartment is located in a classic DC rowhouse in the Edgewood neighborhood of northeast DC. Entering from the rear of the property, you'll have access to the fully-enclosed backyard which offers privacy and greenery. If you have kids, we have a small playhouse, sand table, and various outdoor toys that they are welcome to use. With your own private entrance you can come and go as you please. The kitchen and dining area includes a full refrigerator, dishwasher, 4 burner apartment-sized gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, and a good assortment of kitchen utensils and cooking equipment. With a sliding glass door you'll have plenty of natural light to enjoy meals or work remotely from the kitchen table. Verizon Fios wifi is included in your rental. The full bathroom is stocked with a hairdryer and other amenities to help you look your best. Feel free to use the in-unit washer and dryer at any time. The bedroom area has a queen sized bed with 6 inch memory foam mattress. You can lounge in bed while watching TV, or enjoy the (very comfortable) oversized lounge chair. There are blackout shades on the windows and you have full control over the heating/cooling in the space with your own mini-split unit. We also provide fans and a portable space heater. About the neighborhood: The apartment is on a quiet street in the Edgewood neighborhood. You're about a 10 minute walk from the Rhode Island Avenue metro stop, as well as a number of bars, breweries, Bryant Street food hall, Alamo Drafthouse movie theater, and a couple of playgrounds. If you like biking or running we are very close to the Metropolitan Branch Trail and we find it's a great place for family walks or getting out on the bike. You can also walk to a Trader Joe's, Starbucks, wine shop, and a number of other businesses next to Catholic University. About the owners: Longtime DC residents (15 years and counting!) my husband and I both work for the federal government. We have two small children and love our neighborhood for the nice mix of residential homes and fun places within walking distance. We often have dinner on the back deck (above the walk out basement) or play with the kids in the back yard, and our kids love saying hi to guests (but will also not bother you if you're in the apartment). When renovating the space we added insulation into the ceiling and upstairs is covered in rugs. However, because it's an older home, you will still hear us walking around during the day. With two small children we can't promise that there will never be any noise coming from above, but from the 8:30 pm to 7 am the kids are upstairs on the third floor and shouldn't keep you up.

Access the space through your own private entrance in the rear of the property, which is surrounded by a high fence for maximum privacy. Inside you'll have your own private kitchen with four burner gas stove and dishwasher! The full bathroom includes a washer and dryer, and there's a full closet with ironing board and plenty of hangers.
